the patience of a spider

A yellow garden spider has spun her web right outside my bedroom window. She sits in the middle of her web, completely still, while she waits for her prey. I watched her for three days, and for three days she trapped nothing. And then the next day her patience was rewarded with a feast of grasshopper and wasp.

So while I wait for things in my life to come to fruition I will try to remember the patience of a spider.
